Give Me The Grateful Life - Monday

The weekend is over.  I'm sure you're all rested and ready for the week ahead.  No?  Me neither.  I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

But no negativity today.  Today is gratitude day here at Merlotmom's.

So here goes:

  1. Today, I am grateful my hubby took Greta with him to the office. My house is actually peaceful. (If you don't count the LOUD STREET DRILLING going on next door.)  Still, I'm grateful.
  2. I am grateful for hiring a new dog trainer (this one at a reasonable price) who's going to help me recapture my role as Alpha Dog.
  3. I am grateful for surviving my weekend as a single mom despite waking at the crack of dawn to tend to my two looney mongrels before 8am soccer games and 9am religious school.
  4. I am grateful for satellite radio.
  5. I am grateful for bloggers who read why I'm grateful.
Tell us what you're grateful for?

I'm grateful that the eye doctor examined Maddie today and told me her eyes are perfect! (This is not always the case for premies like her)

I just saw my parents yesterday. I'm grateful that they're still happy, healthy and full of energy.

I'm grateful that:

- we don't have any money with Lehman Brothers...because we don't have any money.

- the SATC movie is coming to video

- you have an ad for 'the best gay beaches around the world' on your site.

- that RC loves school

I'm grateful that I got all of tomorrow's work done yesterday and today so that I can take the day off without guilt.

Here's what I'm going to do with it:
hit the gym
get waxed
leisurely lunch and shopping with a friend

Actually, I'm beyond grateful!

I'm grateful that a potentially-controversial post on my blog hasn't attracted trolls (so far).

I'm grateful that the weather has been cooler lately.

I'm grateful that both my husband and I have good jobs, even if we're not exactly in love with them lately.

Well, here I am late again, but...

I am SO grateful our power came back on last night, almost 24 hours to the minute after it went out. There are still about 200,000 in NE Ohio without electricity.

I'm grateful that the power came back on in time for me to make lemon curd and assemble this 2-tier anniversary cake I'm serving tonight.

I'm even more grateful that the power came on in time for us to watch Monday Night Football.

I'm grateful the Cowboys won, despite Tony Romo's interception and fumble in the end zone. Because we despise the Eagles (it's a law; you have to despise the Eagles if you're from Dallas or they make you move. Honest.).

I would be even more grateful if he'd learn to fall on the ball instead of giving other teams the opportunity to score. However, I am grateful he is young and has the time and opportunity to learn this very basic quarterback concept.

Yesterday I was grateful that when I went to the grocery store, the two items I had been craving for a few days were on sale - cranberry juice and bananas. I stocked up!

It's the little things that mean the most...

I'm grateful that Dave finally brought home some good cough medicine. I'm looped up and ready to read blogs. ;)

Oh, I agree about satellite radio. It is a true blessing. No commercials, no pundits, no commentary. Bliss.

Im grateful (and ya'll don't kill me) for the Rain from Hurricane Ike, cause it makes my expensive portrait stuidos grass GROW. And that is by far the biggest prop I have ever had to buy or maintain and it stresses me out living here in the boiling place we call Texas.
