10pm
Saturday
My son sleeps
My daughter models
her new
dress
Tomorrow
she takes her first step
off the dizzying
adolescent
precipice of
the
Bat Mitzvah circuit
She shops
in my closet
for shoes
a ballerina girl
twirling
in her first tutu
Smiles
laughter
sharing
Posing
pointing
next!
Frustration
hissing
SCREAMING
SLAMMING
Good night
sweet girl

oh, god, ours starts in december. my niece is having a japanese-themed bat mitzvah, which is interesting considering the temple is conservative and therefore strictly kosher. think of it...kosher sushi!
