First off, I know you're reading.
I'm grateful that so many of you are reading.
It truly makes my day.
(You have no idea.)
BUT...
if you're reading,
and I know you are,
how come so few of you are commenting??!?!?!
Do you have nothing to be grateful for?
Is it that difficult to conjure up something good that has come from your day, your week?
If you answered yes to those questions...
...all the more reason to take a frikkin' ride with me on the gratitude train, you fools.
What's with the passive negativity people?
Come on, now...
I know you have appreciation within you.
I have faith in you.
Okay, okay, if you need a little motivation to be positive in these final days of summer, I'll bite.
I get it.
How about if I randomly pick a winner from the commenters who tell me what they are grateful for. I will have my son (or daughter) pick the name out of a hat (or bowl) on Monday, August 17.
You can win either:
1. 70 FREE digital camera prints from snapfish (50 FREE for those of you who are already members)
OR
2. A souvenir from Japan (ain't gonna be no Nikon camera or Nintendo DS - this blog don't make no money yet peeps) but it will be something cool from another part of the world.
Your choice.
So come on, you show me yours (gratitude, that is) and I'll show you mine.
Or, don't comment and that will be your passive way of telling me you hate Give Me The Grateful Life - Mondays, you think it's totally queer, and you'll be thankful on Thanksgiving like everyone else. I'll 86 the sucker, right now.
All aboard!? Good luck.

Do I get something for being the first? I'll take the thingie from Japan, please. I am a Japanophile...or is that a Nissi-lover....or what?
You're funny ... I'm grateful for that! Now, come join my contest! I'm giving away $50 bucks this week!
I DID leave a comment, but now that you mention it, I didn't specify what I'm grateful for.
I'm grateful for too many things to mention (like all of us), but today, it's the smell of the air while on a bike ride with a friend in the mountains.
I think your idea is very good!
I'm grateful that I can stay at home and work at something I love to do and actually make money doing it. And my family loves me no matter how stressed I get.
And I am extending my "describe the piggy bank" contest til the end of this week if you have time to stop by.
I am grateful for the painkillers that are making my husband someone that you can be in the same room with.
Because otherwise I was going to have to put him out of his misery.
FINE. :)
I'm grateful that my brother's not dead. Even though I feel like killing him.
Sufficient? ;)
Boy did that title just call to me from across the internet!
Okay, today I'm grateful that I happened to return my my mom's call while I was near enough to her house to drop off RC before taking HRH to the uniform store where the entire population of every catholic school outside of Boston was, like me, waiting until the last minute to buy overpriced gym uniforms with the damn school name screen printed on to it.
I'm grateful that today my reader has less than 70 articles in it and I can take the time to comment.
Oh, and that the Girl is gone with her grumpy self.
Too much competition. I can't be grateful; I'm grumpy. Okay, I'm grateful that I live in a country where I'm allowed to be grumpy.
I'm sorry!
I was too busy drinking all the wine in my house before the Mormon come back to see how my 'grape juice substitute' is working out.
P.S. I'm not out of wine, a little drunk and waiting for Brother Horton to knock on my door. I can't wait to tell him how thankful I am for my wine!
I'm grateful God invented coffee and chocolate.
As a possible explanation of the dearth of comments, I personally know that when your email update included the whole article rather than just the teaser, I would read the whole thing, then link over and comment. With just the teaser, I don't do that as often. Just a thought.
I'm grateful to be one of the contributors to the LA Moms Blog. I wish you had made it to our get-together this past weekend so I could have met you!
(And for whatever it's worth, I'm with Toddie about the partial feed.)
I am so grateful that you aren't calling out names on who you might be speaking of...hmmm...not that I would know or anything. So here it goes:
I am grateful for my life. I love it and really wouldn't change much if I had the chance. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for my friends and I love that I get to live this life.
There.
So...does my grateful comment from before count or do I need to think of another one?
Well..just in case...I'm grateful for my wonderful students without whom I would go frickin' nutters over here....they make my days smiley!!
Oh yeah...and my kids and my hubby, those are pretty much a given!!!
I could do with the prints...no thank you on the Japanese stuff...deoderant would be nice, though!!! :-D
Sorry this looks like a plug for my blog...oh? It is? I see, sorry.

But it's my grateful list?
Have you tried Mr Linky for your grateful mondays thing?
I hear you're kicking ass and taking names.
I am grateful for my children who almost every day remind me why I wanted to become a mother so badly.
And of course, whiskey, chocolate and sex.
I'm greatful for all the wonderful friendships that come out of attending BlogHer..... 8-)
I'm grateful that my husband forced me to transfer my paper journal over to a blog, thus opening me up to this amazing network of talented, creative, inspiring, interesting people that I now call my friends.
Hey, do you think you can just BUY gratitude?!? Oh wait, it looks like you can.
I usually save my thankfulness for Tuesdays:
http://inventingmylife.blogspot.com/2008/08/all-generous-people.html
but I guess I will make an exception this week and declare that I am grateful for this wonderful blogging community that I stumbled into almost accidently!
I'm sorry, I've been too busy being grateful. I shall amend this posthaste.
I'm grateful The Young One is home. I've missed the little bugger.
I'm glad his father and grandmother only stayed one night then went home. Too much of a good thing, and all that.
I'm grateful Beloved is on his way home from Chicago and will be here for TEN WHOLE DAYS.
Mercy me. What shall we do??

Click Whore? OMG, so that's what I am! Is there a support group for this, because Honey, I've got it BAD!
Kay I'm leaving a comment. Be right back, I've gotta make some egg salad sandwiches...

oh, yeah - what I'm grateful for...
my regular day job that takes me away from all this, this beautiful sunny day that I'm soon going to sit down in and enjoy with a Bevvy, all the mod. cons. such as diswashers and washing machines and coffee makers... and my healthy, mostly happy, child... :-)
See? You offer FREE stuff and the hounds come a-thanking.
I am thankful that I was able to use email to decline to relocate to New Jersey today. It was easier than trying to tell the guy over the phone. So the 3 month clock starts ticking as of today.
And I pick the Japanese souvenier!
So, are you back with my souvenier yet?
I'm grateful for my programmable coffee maker that greets my in the morning with a hot cup of heaven.
